Here is a French innovation coming to us from INRA (the French institute of agricultural research): Cows equipped with portholes. That’s not a joke! Check this out!

When I first looked at the videos and pictures, I was shocked. I never heard of cows equipped with these sort of potholes. However nothing indicates that the animal suffers.

I am surprised that is the French that came up with this and not the Chineses. These portholes are giving access to the cow’s stomach to analyze the food they eat.

Electronic cigarettes may be the solution for those who are fed up standing in the cold to smoke their cigarette.

The device even produces a cloud of water vapour with every puff, though causes no harm to smokers.

The Butlers Arms started selling the fake cigarettes at the weekend after seeing them in a trade magazine.

Mr Giles said: “When it’s freezing outside and chucking it down with rain it’s a good alternative to going outside for a cigarette.

“We built a smoking shelter, but it’s just not the same for smokers who have been marginalised by the ban.

“While we are completely supportive of the smoking ban we are still very conscious of the needs of our smoking customers.

Degan Beley great post titled ” 12 Hours Of Vancouver” made me very hungry. She says:

Then a snacking wander through Granville Island, especially Oyama Sausage, Liberty Wines, Edible B.C., South China Seas Trading Co., where I would sample whatever was on offer as well as stock up on supplies for wherever I was going.

From there I would walk along the water to have a late lunch at Hapa in Kits, even though it is substandard to the one downtown. This was a tough compromise. I actually will probably never go back to that location because I just like the other one so much better. But I wouldn’t want to go to the Robson Street location on what I’m imagining is a sunny day.
