Dirty Pictures Of A BC Conservative Candidate

Over the last few months, Conservatives were shocked when they realized that a Canadian movie entitled “Young People Fucking,” received federal subsidies, (like most Canadian productions).

Later on, Harper’s government made some cutbacks to artists travelling abroad, the case of a band named “Holy Fuck” was invoked by a Conservative official to explain that the program deserved a revision.

Conservatives do not like the word “fuck”. But apparently they do not have any problem with one of their B.C. candidates, Sharon Smith, former mayor of Houston, B.C., who grabbed worldwide attention five years ago when her pictures of her wearing nothing more than a smile and her mayor’s silver collar were widely circulated on the Internet.

Yesterday: Tory Meeting On Vancouver Island; One Idiot Found

Harper needs to stop treating other parties as elitists, that look down on “working families”, and just admit he does not like them because of something they have – that is a real plan for average Canadians. Other parties are being criticized because the reality is that Tories DO NOT CARE about the middle class. Tories care about big businesses, period.

In his speech in Nanaimo, Prime Minister Stephen Harper accused Jack Layton of being “out of touch with the concerns of the Island’s working families“. What a joke! It doesn’t matter to Harper that his characterization is fictitious; it’s the role that Jack Layton must play if the party of plutocrats is going to win over the little guy.

Jack Layton can’t help it if he has a reputation of being on the side of “working families” and the middle class (something that Harper does not give a rat’s ass about) and Harper has the elegance and the charisma of a Costco shopper who resurfaces driveways. Canadians are so dummies that our Prime Ministers have to look and sound so boring and unimaginative like Stephen Harper. And that’s where the Conservative camp gets its campaign strategy: Paint other parties with our own defects and wait for Canada to vote them off, like the good guy in every reality show.

And finally: As for “Working families,” you know who’s caring about families? I am, by supporting someone else than Harper, because a victory this fall for the Costco shopper and his Tories would make my blogging task in the next 5 years very easy.

U.S Politics: The Boss Just Announced That He Supports Obama

null
“Over here on E Street, we’re proud to support Obama for President,” The Boss said. Citing the need for a “great American reclamation project” to restore the damage done to the United States during the Bush administration, Springsteen writes on his website that Obama is the candidate best able to bring a “new moral purpose” back to the country.

“At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships. While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man’s life and vision, so well described in his excellent book, Dreams From My Father, often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment.”[Bruce Sprinsteen]
