Disney is planning the remake of a 3d version of TRON, the 1982 cult classic starring Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn a computer hacker abducted into the world of a computer and forced to participate in gladiatorial games. AICN has a spy with a little more information about the new TRON project.
Morph, a joint nanotechnology concept, developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) - was launched today alongside the “Design and the Elastic Mind” exhibition, on view from February 24 to May 12, 2008, at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. The exhibition displays phones that will be built with materials controlled on the atomic and molecular scale, normally 1 to 100 nanometers. The “nanophones” will have devices with critical dimensions that lie within that size range.
Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices:
Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials blend more seamlessly with the way we live
Devices become self-cleaning and self-preserving
Transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic dimension
Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst batteries become smaller, longer lasting and faster to charge
Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more about the environment around us, empowering us to make better choices [Nokia]
Expert say: Cybernetic implants to become a reality in 2029.
The nanoprobes are fictional technological devices from the Star Trek TV series, most commonly used by the race known as the Borg. These nanoprobes are microscopic machines that inhabit a Borg’s body, bloodstream, and many cybernetic implants and might become a reality in 2029 according to Ray Kurzweil U. S leading inventor and engineer.
Kurzweil believes that machines and humans will eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health just like the borgs in Star Trek. [BBC]
