DNA PATERNITY TEST KIT

The Guardian reported in 2005 that 1 in 25 fathers are not the real biological father of the child they believe to be theirs.

This product might be the solution to this problem. Identigene DNA Paternity Test Collection Kit can be purchased at Rite Aid drug stores throughout the U.S. The company claim that the DNA kit is easy-to-find near pregnancy tests and other family planning products.

The product is priced at $29.99. You can collect DNA samples from each person involved including the alleged father, child, and mother. Once the DNA collecting is done you just have to send the DNA samples and the $119.00 laboratory testing fee to IDENTIGENE using the postage-paid return envelope. The total cost is around $150.00.

We don’t know at this time if Canadians can access this service without custom problems.

Washing Machine And Toilet All In One

This design concept was submitted as part of The Greener Gadgets Design Competition which took place during the month of February, 2008 in New York city.

Sevin Coskun says’

“Wasup” is a conceptual design integrating washing machine with toilette-flush. It suggests a sustainable water consuption by storing the wasted water in toilette-flush tank and reuse it with flushing.” [CORE77]

1955: TV’s Tiniest Actress

A miniature effect is a special effect that is usually generated by the use of scale models. Their use dates back to the earliest days of cinema. The miniature effect below is different, because an electronic device known as a matting amplifier is used. It produces artful double exposure effects enabling a “reduced” actress.

“Barbra Loden cavorts in miniature on the Ernie Kovacs’ show, astounding and amusing audiences with her feats.

BARBRA Loden is TV’s tiniest performer by virtue of electronic wizardry. In reality she’s a shapely 5 ft., 5 in., 112-pound gal with a mighty fine specification sheet reading 36-23-34. She performs on Ernie Kovacs’ show twice a week, cavorting through a series of weird Lilliputian escapades dreamed up by Kovacs and director Barry Shear.” via [Modern Mechanix]

Timed Candle

Have you always been afraid to fall asleep while a candle was burning. Here is a candle you can leave unattended because it will extinguish itself when you want it too.

“The Candle by the Hour Rope Candle is designed so that you can have it burn for a set amount of time and it will then extinguish itself. Nothing too fancy here, just feed a few inches of the rope candle through the candle clip and the candle will burn for about an hour.”[NERD APPROVED]

Martha Stewart Loves Her New MacBook Air

Martha Stewart loves her new MacBook Air.

“I was so excited when my new MacBook Air arrived the other day.  When I opened the box and examined this laptop, I was amazed by how razor thin and how light it is – just .76 of an inch and only 3 pounds.  It has a full-size illuminated keyboard, which is terrific for working in a dimly lit car or on an airplane.  And I really love the trackpad, which works in much the same way as the Apple iPhone, giving you many more options by simply moving your fingers.  I also use an HP laptop on a regular basis because I like to be well versed on both platforms and be able to multi-task.  Both computers sit side by side on my desk in my kitchen and having them right there together is very convenient for me.”[Martha Stewart Blog]

Put Your Face On A Movie Star

Just days after competitor GizMoz said it snagged a $6.5 million second round of funding and forged a deal to deliver its 3-D characters to AOL’s AIM users, Oddcast is previewing a new service called 3D Videostar that will let users import their faces into movie clips to replace those of movie stars.

Oddcast did not mention any date of availability. However, they provided the public with sample videos to give us an idea of what it’ll be like.

Eco-Friendly, Egg-Shaped Canadian Water Filter

A Montreal company just created a eco-friendly egg shaped water purifier to get all the chlore and other stuff like that out of the water you consume on a daily basis. Is that so great?

According to them its environmentally friendly to the core and it doesn’t consume any electricity. It also uses gravity to filter and revitalize tapwater.

“[…] 1) it doesn’t consume any electricity, using gravity instead to filter and revitalize tapwater, 2) the unit itself is made of porcelain, glass, and metal, and 3) it features a reusable, multilayer filter cartridge whose contents are 100% recyclable. The main reservoir can hold up to 11 liters of fresh water, with the water level indicated by the magnetic gauge. The filter cartridge uses a combination of KDF 55, activated carbon, microporous bioceramics and quartz crystal to remove impurities from the water.”[aquaovo]

The Fuzzy Wonder

I never saw a bicycle like that before. I will let you figure out how what all of this means and how it is suppose to works. :D

Kipling wrote: “The female of the species is more deadly than the male.” If judged from this viewpoint, this Fuzzy Wonder must be a she goat instead of a he-goat. While it might appear ridiculous to attempt to establish any relationship between Fuzzy Wonder and a wild west bronco, yet our suspicion is confirmed by the fact that a bronco is tame compared with this goat.[…]”

Nintendo Game Bridges The Generation Gap

I usually don’t write much about games in this blog, but I remember years ago, all the hours of fun playing at video games. One of my favorite video game was of course, Donkey Kong, where I got acquainted with Mario.

The release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be remembered as the first cross generation videogame. A game that bridges the generation gap as my title eloquently suggests. As most of you already know, Super Smash Bros Brawl is a crossover fighting game published by Nintendo for the Wii console. As the third installment of the Super Smash Bros. series, this title once again features a diverse roster of characters from Nintendo and its second parties to fight in various kinds of matches

Besides feeding players’ nostalgia and allowing fights that defies the law of gravity, the game has an option where you can play online against other players or another option allowing you to fight against various characters while following a story created by Kazushige Nojima, known for his work in Final Fantasy.

The game comes with a load of new features. link
